CHATGPTFX

Every setting, explained.

Search all 55 inputs in ChatGPTFX EA v1.40. See the source defaults and understand what each control changes.

Where to find these inputs

In MT5, right-click the chart → Expert Advisors → Properties → Inputs. Save a preset before changing it. These are the v1.40 source defaults; match the guide to the release supplied with your order.

01

Price is not pips

Inputs ending in Price use the gold quote’s price units. A value of 0.50 means a 0.50 difference in the quote. MaxDeviationPoints uses broker points instead.

02

Two separate clocks

MaxSignalAgeSeconds controls whether an entry is still fresh. InitialTargetsTimeoutSeconds controls how long the first target packet may arrive after the original setup.

03

Keep the baseline clear

Prop mode needs a positive InitialReferenceEquity and the correct UTC reset hour. A saved account lock should only be reset for a deliberate account reset or rebaseline.

EA v1.40 · source defaults, not a recommended trading preset
InputDefaultWhat it controls
LicenseKeyLicense and connection(enter your license)Paste the license issued with your order. Keep it private; do not include it in screenshots or support messages.
LicenseEndpointLicense and connectionhttps://chatgptfx.com/wp-json/chatgptfx/v1/activateThe full HTTPS activation endpoint. Leave the supplied value unless support provides a replacement. Its origin must be allowed in MT5 WebRequest.
BridgeBaseURLLicense and connectionhttps://feed.chatgptfx.comThe HTTPS base address of your trade feed, with no trailing slash or /v2/feed path. Use the exact address issued with your license; it must match the license server’s bridge address.
EnableNewTradesLicense and connectionfalsefalse starts the EA with entries paused. Enable only after your demo connection check. The dashboard PAUSE / RESUME control can change the current entry state; restarting uses this input again.
AllowLiveAccountLicense and connectionfalsefalse restricts new entries to demo accounts. Set true only when you deliberately want this installation to place orders on a live account.
MagicNumberLicense and connection260014Identifier for this EA’s orders and saved state. Keep it stable while trades are open. Run one ChatGPTFX instance per account.
PollSecondsLicense and connection3Seconds between feed checks; minimum 2. The default checks every 3 seconds, but a poll is not a new trade.
SizeModeSizing and entry controlsRiskPercentRiskPercent calculates volume from the stop distance and risk budget. FixedLots uses FixedLotSize, while still checking the maximum risk allowance.
RiskPerTradePercentSizing and entry controls0.50Planned risk as a percentage of current equity for new entries. Must be greater than 0 and no higher than MaximumRiskPercent. This is a sizing input, not a return target.
FixedLotSizeSizing and entry controls0.01Requested volume when SizeMode is FixedLots. Broker volume steps and the risk cap still apply; a volume that exceeds the allowance is rejected.
MaximumRiskPercentSizing and entry controls0.50Upper bound used for sizing in both volume modes. The EA accepts values above 0 up to 2, and RiskPerTradePercent must not exceed it.
RoundTripCommissionPerLotSizing and entry controls7.0Estimated opening plus closing commission per lot, in account currency. Enter your broker’s value; the default 7.0 is a calculation assumption.
EntryTolerancePriceSizing and entry controls0.00Extra price distance allowed beyond the incoming entry zone. 0 means the original zone only. Price units, not pips.
MaxSpreadPriceSizing and entry controls0.50Maximum allowed ask-minus-bid spread for a new trade, in gold price units. For example, 0.50 is a price difference of 0.50.
SlippageReservePriceSizing and entry controls0.20Extra price distance reserved in the loss estimate when calculating position size. This affects the budget, not a guaranteed fill price.
MaxSignalAgeSecondsSizing and entry controls60Maximum age of a new setup, measured from its original message time. Valid range: 15–90 seconds. Updates do not restart this clock.
MaximumQueuedSignalsSizing and entry controls20Maximum pending setups held in the local first-in, first-out queue, from 1 to 100. Expired setups are removed; this is not a target trade count.
MaxDeviationPointsSizing and entry controls20Allowed order deviation in broker points. Unlike settings ending in Price, the value depends on the symbol’s point size and broker execution mode.
GenerateMissingSLMandatory initial stop and delayed targetstrueIf an incoming setup has no stop, true allows the EA to calculate an initial stop from closed M1 bars and ATR. Entries still require an accepted initial stop.
StopLookbackM1BarsMandatory initial stop and delayed targets5Number of closed M1 candles used to find the recent high or low for a generated stop. Valid range: 2–60.
StopATRPeriodMandatory initial stop and delayed targets14ATR period on M1 used for generated stops. Valid range: 2–100. The EA needs enough recent history to calculate it.
StopBufferPriceMandatory initial stop and delayed targets0.20Minimum price buffer beyond the reference high or low when generating a stop. The actual buffer also considers ATR and spread.
StopBufferATRMandatory initial stop and delayed targets0.25ATR multiplier used in the generated-stop buffer. The EA takes the largest of the fixed buffer, this ATR buffer and 1.5 times the spread.
MinimumGeneratedStopPriceMandatory initial stop and delayed targets1.50Minimum price distance for a generated stop. ATR can make the minimum larger. Must be above 0 and below MaximumInitialStopPrice.
MaximumInitialStopPriceMandatory initial stop and delayed targets8.00Maximum allowed entry-to-stop price distance. A setup needing a wider stop is skipped, including setups with a supplied stop.
WaitForTargetsBeforeEntryMandatory initial stop and delayed targetsfalsefalse permits an entry with a provisional target while waiting for the initial target packet. true requires targets first; the original entry-expiry clock still applies.
InitialTargetsTimeoutSecondsMandatory initial stop and delayed targets300Window for the first target packet, measured from the original setup time. Maximum 300 seconds and at least MaxSignalAgeSeconds. If targets remain missing at expiry, the EA requests closure of its still-open position.
ProvisionalTargetRMandatory initial stop and delayed targets2.00Temporary take-profit distance as a multiple of the initial stop distance when targets are missing. 2.00 means twice that distance. A valid initial target packet can replace it within the target window.
CloseAtTargetTargets and stop managementLastAvailableLastAvailable closes at the last supplied target; AtTP1 through AtTP5 select a specific target. The EA manages one position rather than splitting it into partial exits. A missing selected target causes a skip or a close request when delayed targets arrive.
ProtectionModeTargets and stop managementTargetStepsProtectionOff leaves automated trailing off. TargetSteps moves the stop as targets are reached. StepsAndDistance also follows the best reached price by a configured distance after the first target.
BreakEvenBufferPriceTargets and stop management0.10Extra price distance added to estimated commission and swap costs when moving the stop toward break-even. Broker execution still determines the actual close.
TrailingDistancePriceTargets and stop management2.00Distance behind the best reached price when StepsAndDistance is selected. Active after the first target is reached.
TrailingStepPriceTargets and stop management0.20Minimum price improvement normally required before another trailing-stop modification. A newly reached target can trigger a step immediately.
RespectManualStopChangesTargets and stop managementtruetrue detects manual SL or TP edits and pauses automatic target/stop adjustments for that position. Use the dashboard’s resume-auto action when you want to hand management back.
PropModeProp mode drawdown controls (inactive when off)falseEnables daily and overall drawdown controls. When false, those account-percentage locks are inactive; normal entry sizing, stop, spread and news checks still operate.
PropDailyLossPercentProp mode drawdown controls (inactive when off)5.0Daily loss allowance used by prop mode. Match the value and its calculation basis to your account’s actual rules.
PropOverallLossPercentProp mode drawdown controls (inactive when off)10.0Overall allowance relative to the initial reference, or to the tracked peak when trailing equity is enabled. This percentage is not a profit target.
InitialReferenceEquityProp mode drawdown controls (inactive when off)0Required positive account reference when PropMode is true. Enter your account’s rule baseline; 0 is not valid with prop mode enabled.
PropTrailingEquityProp mode drawdown controls (inactive when off)falsefalse uses a static overall floor. true moves the reference with the saved equity peak while the allowance remains a percentage of the initial reference.
DailyAllowanceFromInitialProp mode drawdown controls (inactive when off)truetrue calculates the daily allowance from InitialReferenceEquity. false uses the reconstructed start-of-day balance for that allowance. The daily floor is measured from the start-of-day balance.
DailyResetUTCHourProp mode drawdown controls (inactive when off)0Daily reset hour in UTC, from 0 to 23. Convert your account’s reset time to UTC and review it when daylight-saving rules change.
SafetyBufferPercentProp mode drawdown controls (inactive when off)0.10Additional margin, as a percentage of initial reference equity, before a prop limit. Must be non-negative and smaller than both loss-limit percentages.
CloseEAOnLimitProp mode drawdown controls (inactive when off)truetrue requests closure of this EA’s position and deletion of its pending orders when a prop lock is reached. It does not close unrelated manual trades or other EAs’ orders.
ResetOverallLockProp mode drawdown controls (inactive when off)falseOne-use reset for a deliberate account reset or rebaseline. Normally leave false. Do not use it to bypass an account limit; revert to false after the approved reset.

BlockWhenCalendarUnavailableEconomic calendartruetrue blocks new entries when calendar data is missing or uncertain. Check the connection and calendar rather than disabling the filter just to force activity.
ShowDashboardDisplaytrueShows the on-chart control panel. Keep it visible while checking license, feed, entry status and trade management.
ShowProvidedLogoDisplaytrueShows the supplied brand artwork on the dashboard.
PanelScaleDisplay0.85Dashboard size multiplier, from 0.5 to 1.5. The default 0.85 leaves more space for candles.
ApplyDarkChartThemeDisplaytrueApplies the supplied dark chart and green/red candle palette when the EA starts.

Using the dashboard

PAUSE / RESUME controls new entries while existing position management continues. Apply updates the displayed risk and lot values for future entries. Changing the size, target or protection selector affects future entries; use the separate resume-auto action to apply eligible target/protection settings to an existing position.

With RespectManualStopChanges = true, a manual SL/TP edit pauses automatic stop and target adjustments for that position. The manual controls do not widen the stop. CLOSE requires a second click within five seconds.

Use the Inputs dialog to save settings that should apply after restarting. Temporary dashboard sizing choices are not a saved preset.
