Desktop MetaTrader 5 on Windows, a broker demo login, your current EA package, the license key and the feed address supplied with your order. You can use your own laptop or a Windows VPS.
Put the files in the right place.
- Open MT5 and choose File → Open Data Folder.
- Open MQL5 → Experts. Create a folder named ChatGPTFX.
- Extract the supplied EA package into that folder. Keep ChatGPTFX.mq5 and all its supplied .mqh include files together.
- For the source package, open ChatGPTFX.mq5 in MetaEditor and press F7 / Compile. Continue when the compiler reports 0 errors; review any warnings. This creates ChatGPTFX.ex5.
- Return to MT5. In Navigator → Expert Advisors, right-click and select Refresh. Open your broker’s gold chart, such as XAUUSD or its broker-specific variant.
M5 or M15 is useful for viewing the chart. EA v1.40 receives entries from the trade feed; the chart period does not change its entry strategy. Use one EA instance per account.
Enable WebRequest in MT5.
Choose Tools → Options (Ctrl+O), then open Expert Advisors. Enable Allow WebRequest for listed URL. Add each address on its own line and click OK.
Add this origin to WebRequest:
https://chatgptfx.comEA input: LicenseEndpoint
https://chatgptfx.com/wp-json/chatgptfx/v1/activateAdd this origin to WebRequest:
https://feed.chatgptfx.comEA input: BridgeBaseURL
https://feed.chatgptfx.comUse the addresses issued with your order if they differ from these published defaults. Website licensing and the feed can run on different hosting providers. Your feed URL is not automatically your website URL.
These are two service connections: the WordPress license endpoint and the separate trade-feed service. The EA does not need an OpenAI API key. DLL imports are not required by the supplied v1.40 source.
Enter your license and feed details.
- Drag ChatGPTFX from Navigator onto the gold chart.
- In the EA permissions, enable Allow Algo Trading. Also enable the terminal’s Algo Trading toolbar button.
- In Inputs, paste your LicenseKey. Set LicenseEndpoint to the full activation URL and BridgeBaseURL to the supplied feed base URL.
- The feed base URL must match the address issued by the license server. Use HTTPS and leave off the trailing slash and /v2/feed path.
- For the first connection check, leave EnableNewTrades = false and AllowLiveAccount = false. Confirm an active license and connected feed on the dashboard.
Customers run MT5 locally or on their Windows VPS. The seller’s parser and feed service run separately; you do not need to install Ubuntu or move the WordPress website.
Review the inputs once.
Sizing
Choose RiskPercent or FixedLots. RiskPerTradePercent must not exceed MaximumRiskPercent. Enter your broker’s commission assumption.
Targets
Choose LastAvailable or a specific TP1–TP5, then select your stop-management mode. The default allows initial targets to arrive within 300 seconds.
News
The defaults pause entries around high-importance USD events: 30 minutes before and 15 minutes after. Adjust them to your intended schedule.
Prop mode
If enabled, enter a positive InitialReferenceEquity and match the limits, reset hour and buffer to your account rules.
Save a copy using Inputs → Save. Read the full parameter guide for exact input names, source defaults and limits.

When ready, set EnableNewTrades = true and confirm the dashboard is resumed. Keep AllowLiveAccount = false for the demo. Observe a qualifying entry and its management, then review the Experts and Journal tabs.
The current network-feed EA is tested by running it in a demo terminal. WebRequest is unavailable in MT5’s Strategy Tester, and this release deliberately declines tester initialization.
Find the next step quickly.
The EA does not appear in Navigator.
Confirm the files are in the data folder of the MT5 installation you are using, inside MQL5/Experts/ChatGPTFX. Compile the main MQ5 file, check for the resulting EX5, then refresh Navigator.
MetaEditor shows compilation errors.
Check that all include files came from the same release and are in the expected folder. Open the main ChatGPTFX.mq5 file, not an include file. Send support the first compiler errors and release version; avoid changing the code just to hide them.
The license says “Add HTTPS URLs in MT5 options”.
Recheck both WebRequest origins, HTTPS spelling and the addresses in Inputs. Confirm the system clock and internet connection. Use your issued feed address rather than assuming the website and feed share a host.
The license is active, but the feed is offline.
Compare BridgeBaseURL with the address issued with your license. Check that the second origin is allowed in WebRequest. If the status includes an HTTP code or “Feed version mismatch”, send that exact message to support.
It is connected but has not opened a trade.
Read the dashboard status. Check entries are resumed, Algo Trading is enabled and the account is allowed. News windows, wide spreads, an expired setup, price outside the entry zone or existing gold exposure can hold an entry. The EA waits for an eligible incoming setup.
The panel shows “Invalid parameters” or fails to start.
Check RiskPerTradePercent is no higher than MaximumRiskPercent, MaximumRiskPercent is at most 2, PollSeconds is at least 2, and MaxSignalAgeSeconds is 15–90. If PropMode is true, InitialReferenceEquity must be positive. The parameter guide lists the other limits.
The economic calendar is unavailable.
Check MT5’s connection and calendar availability. With BlockWhenCalendarUnavailable enabled, entries wait for usable calendar data. Include the calendar status and MT5 build when contacting support.
There is a storage or recovery lock.
Check the Experts log, local file permissions and open broker positions. Resolve the cause before resuming. Keep the saved state files intact and contact support if the status asks for reconciliation.
